P6 Planner
Location: Airdrie, Scotland
Salary: Up to £65,000
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
The Company
The steel structures behind major construction projects do not come together by chance. Behind every successful delivery is a programme that connects design, procurement, fabrication and installation, with people making sure each stage happens when it should.
An established business within the structural steelwork sector is looking for a P6 Planner to help keep its projects moving, bringing greater visibility to deadlines, potential delays and the decisions that keep work on track.
The Role
You will use Primavera P6 to turn project requirements into workable programmes, helping teams understand what needs to happen, when it needs to happen and what could put delivery at risk.
Build detailed project programmes covering design, procurement, fabrication, delivery and site installation.
Track progress against key milestones, identifying critical path issues before they become bigger problems.
Coordinate programme activities with project management, engineering, production and site teams.
Produce progress reports, look-ahead schedules and programme updates that give stakeholders a clear picture of delivery.
Identify risks, assess the impact of delays and develop recovery plans to bring programmes back on track.
Support project meetings, delay analysis and contractual programme submissions where required.
The Candidate
You will already understand how to build and manage programmes in a project-led environment, with the technical knowledge to recognise when a schedule is realistic and when it needs attention.
Essential:
Practical experience using Primavera P6.
Previous planning or project controls experience within construction, engineering or manufacturing.
Experience developing project programmes and carrying out critical path analysis.
Competence in Microsoft Excel and programme reporting.
Desirable:
Experience within structural steelwork, steel fabrication or a similar engineering environment.
Understanding of the project lifecycle, from design and procurement through to fabrication and installation.
Experience in resource planning, delay analysis or programme recovery.
A relevant qualification in construction, engineering, planning or project management.
The Benefits
Salary up to £65,000, depending on experience.
A permanent position within an established structural steelwork business.
The opportunity to work across several stages of project delivery, rather than focusing on a single part of the programme.
A role where your planning decisions can directly influence project progress, coordination and delivery.
How to Apply
If you have strong Primavera P6 experience and want to put your planning skills to work on structural steel projects, apply today.
Send over your CV and we can talk through the role, the projects you would be working on and what the opportunity could offer you.
