With a strong pipeline of commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects, this established structural steel contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Tekla Detailer to join its growing design team in Somerset.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys producing high-quality steelwork models and fabrication drawings while working closely with engineers, project managers and production teams. You'll play a key role in taking projects from design through to fabrication and installation, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and buildability throughout.

The Role
You will:
- Produce accurate 3D models using Tekla Structures for structural steelwork projects.
- Generate GA drawings, fabrication drawings and erection drawings.
- Prepare bolt lists, material schedules and fabrication packages.
- Review engineering and architectural drawings to ensure design intent is accurately reflected.
- Raise RFIs and liaise with engineers, architects and clients to resolve technical queries.
- Work closely with production and project teams to ensure models are practical for fabrication and installation.
- Revise drawings and models in line with design changes and client requirements.
- Maintain drawing registers and ensure documentation is issued correctly.
- Support project delivery while working to programme deadlines.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience using Tekla Structures within the structural steel industry.
- Experience detailing structural steel fabrication projects.
- Strong understanding of fabrication and erection processes.
- Ability to interpret structural engineering and architectural drawings.
- Experience producing fabrication drawings, GA drawings and material schedules.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience working on commercial, industrial or infrastructure steelwork projects.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes and workshop requirements.
- Experience raising RFIs and coordinating with engineers and architects.
- Understanding of BIM workflows.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
