Staff Civil Engineer
McCarran, Nevada
We are supporting a major industrial EPC programme in Nevada and are looking to speak with experienced Civil Engineers who want to take ownership of complex site infrastructure across battery manufacturing, recycling and energy storage projects.
This is a senior individual contributor role within an internal EPC infrastructure engineering team. You will be responsible for delivering civil design and engineering from early planning and design through bid, permitting, construction support and final delivery.
The work is tied to major industrial infrastructure, including manufacturing facilities, sitewide infrastructure, plant projects and off-site battery energy storage deployments. It is a strong opportunity for a Civil Engineer who wants to work on projects that directly support the growth of the US battery supply chain, energy storage and long-term energy resilience.
This role needs someone who can do more than review drawings. You will independently produce civil engineering deliverables, manage external consultants, support AHJ coordination, resolve RFIs and provide practical constructability input during construction.
The role will involve:
Managing civil engineering projects through planning, design, bid and construction phases
Producing civil construction documents, drawings, specifications, narratives and calculations
Supporting sitewide infrastructure, plant projects and BESS-related civil works
Designing and reviewing grading, drainage, pavements, roadways, utilities, stormwater and site development packages
Preparing and reviewing stormwater management plans, SWPPPs, erosion control and sediment control plans
Coordinating with structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection and controls teams
Reviewing drawings and proposals from external engineers, architects, vendors and consultants
Managing external civil consultants across scope, schedule, deliverables and budget
Supporting permitting, agency coordination and AHJ engagement
Resolving civil RFIs, field changes and constructability issues during construction
Ensuring designs meet applicable codes, standards, safety requirements and local jurisdictional requirements
We are looking for someone with:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Registered Professional Engineer licence
Nevada PE licence, or ability to obtain Nevada licensure by comity quickly
5+ years of hands-on civil engineering design experience
Experience across industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, battery, solar, BESS or heavy infrastructure projects
Strong site development background, including grading, drainage, roadways, pavements, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, domestic water and fire water systems
Experience with stormwater management, flood control, water quality, SWPPPs, heavy civil, wastewater or industrial site infrastructure
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and hydrology / stormwater management software
Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, NFPA and local jurisdictional requirements
Ability to conduct, document and stamp civil calculations and design packages
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and AHJs
This is a strong opportunity for a licensed Civil Engineer who wants senior technical ownership on complex industrial infrastructure projects, without moving into a purely people-management role.
