The Opportunity
A leading structural steel fabrication and construction contractor delivering fabricated steel solutions across the UK and Ireland is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join their growing team.
This role is critical in ensuring the successful handover of structural steelwork, confirming plumb, line and level compliance with contractual tolerances and issuing handover certification.
You will also be involved in turnkey projects, working from greenfield stage through to full project handover, coordinating with multiple trades and delivering accurate as-built documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure steelwork is installed to correct line, level, and tolerance standards
Complete and issue handover certification
Carry out:
As-built bolt surveys
Cast-in plate surveys
As-built steel surveys
Plumb and line checks
Casting of "dead" bolts (no cones)
Setting out of road and drainage lines
TOPO surveys
Produce as-built drawings using AutoCAD
Operate Total Stations for surveying and setting out (Leica and/or Trimble robotic systems advantageous)
Manage own workload across multiple sites
Practical Duties (Hands-On)
Plumbing steel by tightening bolts
Moving steel into position using hammer and wedges
Setting bolts in concrete
Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience completing line and level checks for steel structures
Strong competency with Total Stations (Leica or Trimble preferred)
Ability to process survey data and produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD
CSCS Card
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away when required
Conscientious, hardworking, and strong communicator
