An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a specialist steel engineering and fabrication business delivering complex, high-profile projects across the UK.
This role is ideal for a commercially aware and delivery-focused Project Manager with a strong background in structural steelwork, fabrication, and construction project delivery.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing structural steel and engineering projects from initial planning through to fabrication, installation, and final handover.
Working closely with design, fabrication, site, and commercial teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Projects include major infrastructure, aviation, rail, highways, stadium, and complex steelwork schemes across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing multiple structural steelwork and engineering projects simultaneously
- Coordinating design, fabrication, logistics, and installation activities
- Leading project programmes, budgets, and resource planning
- Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely and in line with quality standards
- Monitoring project progress and managing risks and variations
- Attending client and site meetings throughout project delivery
- Supporting commercial performance and project reporting
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within structural steelwork or engineering environments
- Strong understanding of fabrication, steel erection, and project delivery processes
- Experience delivering large-scale commercial, infrastructure, or industrial projects
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage programmes, budgets, and subcontractors effectively
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations within construction and steel environments
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- SMSTS, CSCS, or relevant project management qualifications would be advantageous
