Location: London Borough of Tower Hamlets
Contract: 6+ Month Contract
Salary: £240 per day (Umbrella)
Hours: 35 Hours per Week

The Role:
Tower Hamlets is looking for an experienced Senior Communications Officer to lead a dynamic team and deliver high-impact communications strategies. You will work closely with senior management to shape and implement the council's communications plan, manage media relations, and oversee digital and social media content. The role also involves managing a team of communications officers and driving innovative campaigns aligned with the council's strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of communications officers.
Develop and implement effective communications strategies and campaigns.
Oversee media relations and social media, providing expert advice to senior leaders.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships.
Support the delivery of the council's communications strategy and priorities.
Drive innovation and best practices in communications.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in senior communications roles, ideally in local government.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team.
Expertise in media relations, digital channels, and campaign management.
Excellent communication skills and a strategic approach to problem-solving.
Additional Information:
£240 per day (Umbrella), 35 hours per week.
Hybrid working arrangements can be discussed at interview.
Occasional work outside normal hours required.
