The Opportunity
An established and growing structural steel fabricator is seeking a Sales & Estimating Manager to lead commercial growth and tendering activity on major UK projects. You'll play a pivotal role in securing and pricing landmark schemes, including high-rise developments and stadium builds, while acting as a key client-facing representative of the business.
This role suits a commercially driven professional who understands structural steelwork and enjoys building long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Lead sales and estimating activities for structural steel projects from enquiry through to contract award
Prepare and manage accurate tenders, budgets, and cost estimates for large-scale steelwork packages
Meet regularly with clients, main contractors, and consultants to develop opportunities and secure work
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the London and wider UK market
Work closely with design, fabrication, and project delivery teams to ensure commercially viable solutions
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to maximise profitability
Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and framework partners
About You
Proven experience in sales, estimating, or commercial management within the structural steel or heavy engineering sector
Strong background working on large-scale projects such as high-rise buildings, stadiums, or complex commercial schemes
Confident and experienced in meeting clients, presenting proposals, and negotiating contracts
Solid understanding of fabrication, erection, and construction processes
Commercially astute with strong communication and relationship-building skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
