Sales & Estimating Manager - Structural Steel

An established company in the structural steel sector is looking for an experienced Sales & Estimating Manager to join their team. This role is key to converting sales opportunities into project revenue and managing a growing Estimating Team. The role reports directly to the Commercial Director and offers long-term progression within a highly respected business.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, manage, and develop a high-performing Estimating and Sales Team
Lead the management of all incoming enquiries
Liaise and negotiate with subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
Personally manage and convert a minimum of three enquiries per week
Support the Estimating Team in reaching individual targets
Collaborate with clients, engineers, architects, and internal departments
Attend pre- and post-tender meetings
Produce weekly reports on enquiries and project pipelines
Promote long-term client and consultant relationships
Regularly review team performance and provide coaching and feedback
Requirements:
Proven experience in estimating structural steel projects (50 to 3,000 tonnes)
Background in construction or civil/structural engineering
Good knowledge of steelwork design and economic construction techniques
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
Experience with ISO 9001 systems and 3D analysis tools is beneficial
Commercial awareness and budgeting experience
