About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Rough Sleeper Support Worker to join a dynamic Housing & Welfare team. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting vulnerable adults who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or recently rehoused after rough sleeping.
Your focus will be on breaking the cycle of homelessness by providing tailored, person-centred support that empowers individuals to sustain independent living.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct outreach across the Walsall borough to engage and support rough sleepers.
Carry out holistic risk and needs assessments, creating personalised support and risk management plans.
Assist service users to access and maintain accommodation, benefits, and essential services.
Encourage participation in learning, employment, and skills programmes.
Support individuals to rebuild positive relationships and community networks.
Respond to crisis situations and provide ongoing one-to-one support.
Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
Work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, as required by service demands.
About You
Previous experience supporting vulnerable adults, including those with complex needs such as substance misuse, mental health, or offending behaviour.
Sound knowledge of housing legislation, welfare rights, and debt support.
Confident in managing challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records.
Proficient in using IT systems relevant to support work.
Committed to safeguarding, equality, and confidentiality.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
