Job Title: Quality Control Inspector / CWI
Location: Statesville, NC (On-site)
Salary: $30 - $40 per hour + overtime (1.5x over 40 hours) + relocation support + 401k Matching
Day to day
As a Quality Control Inspector / CWI, you will play a key role in ensuring all fabricated structural steel meets code and project requirements before it leaves the shop.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Inspecting welding work to ensure compliance with AWS standards and project specifications
- Reviewing drawings, welding procedures, and quality documentation
- Checking material quality and fit-up prior to welding
- Monitoring welding activity to ensure proper procedures are followed
- Conducting visual inspections and coordinating NDT testing (UT, MT)
- Verifying welder qualifications and maintaining compliance records
- Documenting inspections and supporting audits as needed
- Working closely with shop and production teams to resolve quality issues efficiently
Requierments:
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (required)
- Previous quality inspection experience in a fabrication or welding environment
- Strong understanding of welding codes, structural steel standards, and inspection processes
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
- Hands-on, flexible, team-oriented mindset suited to a family-owned environment
