Project Manager - Structural Steel & Modular Construction

Location: Tipperary
Salary: Dependent on experience
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Company

A steel frame leaving the factory is only half the job.

The real test comes when it reaches site and everything arrives in the right order, fits as intended, and the programme keeps moving.

This specialist business combines structural steel, light-gauge steel and offsite construction to deliver industrial, agricultural, sports and modular projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe.

They are now looking for a Project Manager who can take ownership from the moment an order lands through to the final handover.

The Role

You'll be the link between the drawing, the factory and the finished building - keeping everyone working towards the same outcome.

You'll:

  • Own projects from award through fabrication, delivery, erection and handover, keeping cost, programme and quality under control.

  • Coordinate design, detailing, production, logistics and site teams so steel and modules are manufactured and delivered in the sequence the project needs.

  • Challenge drawings, programmes and technical decisions early, before a missing detail becomes a factory delay or site problem.

  • Manage risks, changes, subcontractors and suppliers, keeping clients informed and protecting the project commercially.

  • Drive completion and handover, making sure certification, quality records, variations and commercial close-out are properly dealt with.

  • Report clearly to senior leadership on progress, forecast completion, cash and anything threatening the programme.

You'll work closely with project engineers, detailers, production and site teams, with regular travel to factories and projects as required.

The Candidate

You'll already have experience managing construction projects where what happens in the factory has a direct impact on what happens on site.

You'll need:

  • Proven Project Management experience within structural steel, cladding, modular, offsite or a closely related construction environment.

  • Experience taking projects from award through manufacture/construction to erection and handover.

  • The ability to understand fabrication drawings, programmes and cost information and identify issues before they reach production.

  • Experience managing variations, subcontractors, suppliers and logistics across live projects.

  • Working knowledge of CE marking, quality documentation and construction handover requirements.

  • Comfortable travelling to factories and sites across Ireland, the UK and Europe when the programme requires it.

Why This Role?

This isn't a Project Manager role where you're simply updating a programme and chasing paperwork.

You'll have a direct influence over how projects move from design into fabrication and ultimately onto site, working with the people physically producing and erecting the structures.

The projects cover industrial, agricultural, sports and volumetric/offsite construction, giving you plenty of variety rather than running the same type of building repeatedly.

You'll also be joining an established specialist with decades of experience in steel and offsite construction, with advanced fabrication and modular capabilities behind the projects you manage.

How to Apply

If you've managed structural steel, modular or offsite projects and know how to keep design, fabrication and site delivery moving as one, I'd like to hear from you.
