📌 Project Manager * Structural Steel & Misc. Metals
📍 Pennsylvania
💰 $80,000-$120,000 + Auto & Fuel Allowance
There are plenty of Project Manager roles out there.
Very few give you the opportunity to join a structural steel business that's been around for over a century, work on projects ranging from smaller specialty packages to multi-million-dollar steel projects, and become part of a company that is still actively growing.
This is one of those opportunities.
🏗️ THE BUSINESS
This established steel contractor operates across structural steel and miscellaneous metals, handling projects from design and fabrication through to erection.
Their work spans:
* Commercial
* Industrial
* Institutional
* Public infrastructure
* Bridge projects
With multiple fabrication, erection and office operations already established - and further expansion underway - the business has built a strong platform for continued growth.
And there's something different about the ownership structure:
The company is 100% employee-owned.
As the business performs, its people share in that success.
📈 WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
This is a new position created around continued project volume and growth.
The business isn't looking to fill a seat quickly.
They're willing to wait for the right Project Manager :
Someone with the structural steel experience to take ownership, manage multiple projects and grow with the operation.
🔧 THE ROLE
You'll take projects from turnover through closeout, working across:
* Project financials & cost tracking
* Scheduling & milestones
* RFIs & change orders
* Subcontractors & vendors
* Customer coordination
* Engineering & detailing
* Fabrication & erection
* Site visits & project meetings
The typical project sweet spot is around $3M-$10M, with the wider project portfolio ranging from smaller packages through to projects valued at $40M.
You'll also have the opportunity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong internal support from engineering, detailing, fabrication and erection teams.
🚀 WHERE THIS CAN GO
The first year is structured around development rather than throwing you in at the deep end.
3 Months: Learn the processes, systems and procedures while getting exposure to estimating, change orders and smaller projects.
6 Months: Work alongside an experienced Project Manager in a mentoring/parallel capacity.
12 Months: Take ownership of projects independently, with internal support and an increasing workload.
The company also invests in additional training, conferences and individual development plans.
👀 WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR
* 3-7+ years of structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals experience
* Project management experience within construction
* Comfortable around both fabrication and erection
* Stronger erection exposure is particularly valuable
* Bluebeam proficiency
* Microsoft Office proficiency
* Experience managing project financial, schedules and customer communication
* Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
* Willingness to travel when projects require it
* Valid driver's license
A Construction Management, Engineering or related degree is preferred - but practical steel experience is key.
