🏗️ Pre-Fabrication Supervisor | Western New York
Up to $95,000 + Benefits | Fully Site-Based | Structural Steel
What if your next move put you at the heart of a major steel fabrication operation?
I'm working with an established structural steel fabricator that is expanding its US manufacturing capabilities in Western New York.
They're looking for a Pre-Fabrication Supervisor who knows what it takes to keep a fabrication floor moving - someone who can lead from the front, coordinate people and production, and make sure the work is right before it moves further through the facility.
This isn't a desk-based supervisory position.
You'll be on the floor, working alongside fabrication teams, solving problems, managing priorities and making sure production stays on track.
🔧 What You'll Be Doing
- Supervise and coordinate pre-fabrication activities across the production floor
- Lead fabrication personnel and allocate manpower according to production priorities
- Coordinate daily workflow and production requirements
- Ensure materials and components are correctly prepared before fabrication
- Read and interpret structural steel fabrication drawings
- Work closely with engineering, production, quality and EHS teams
- Identify bottlenecks and resolve issues before they impact schedule
- Monitor productivity, workmanship and production quality
- Ensure employees follow company safety procedures
- Support training, coaching and development of fabrication personnel
- Help improve production processes, efficiency and workflow
- Communicate progress, challenges and requirements to production management
🦺 What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who understands structural steel from the shop floor up.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- 5+ years of structural steel fabrication experience
- Previous supervisory or lead experience within a fabrication environment
- Experience supervising welders, fitters, fabricators or similar trades
- Strong understanding of pre-fabrication and material preparation
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings
- Experience working within a production-driven environment
- Strong understanding of quality and safety requirements
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and keep production moving
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- A hands-on approach to problem solving
Experience with large-scale structural steel fabrication, automated equipment or production systems would be highly advantageous.
🚀 Why This Opportunity?
You'll be joining a large-scale, technically advanced steel fabrication operation with the backing and resources of an established international organisation.
This is an opportunity to take your fabrication experience into a position where you'll have real influence over people, production and performance.
If you're the type of supervisor who would rather be on the floor solving problems than sitting behind a desk waiting for them, this could be worth a conversation.
