๐ฏ The Opportunity
An established engineering and electrical infrastructure organisation is looking for a Senior Electrical Integration Engineer to support the design, integration and commissioning of complex electrical power systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for a US-licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with strong experience in electrical power systems, switchgear controls, protective relays and industrial automation.
You'll act as a key technical resource across major projects, helping resolve complex engineering challenges and ensuring electrical equipment and control systems operate safely, reliably and as designed.
๐ What You'll Be Doing
- Design and develop control systems for switchgear and interconnected electrical equipment.
- Develop site-wide Sequences of Operation (SOO) for complex power systems.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors, review technical submittals and participate in factory witness testing.
- Design safety-related mechanical, electrical and electromechanical interlock systems.
- Develop automation systems using PLCs and RTAC-style industrial controllers.
- Implement load management, overload prevention, generator load curtailment and load-shedding schemes.
- Develop generator start-up, load control and selective load-pickup strategies.
- Configure and develop protective relay settings and logic using platforms such as SEL, ABB and Siemens.
- Design protection and control logic using IEC 61850-based systems.
- Analyse power system failures, electrical events and sequence-of-events (SOE) data.
- Provide technical support during project execution, equipment start-up and commissioning.
- Work closely with project managers, quality control teams, site superintendents and vendors to resolve technical issues.
โ What They're Looking For
- Active US Professional Engineer (PE) licence - essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years of electrical power systems engineering design experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems, including generators, transformers, motors, switchgear, protective relays and UPS systems.
- Experience with industrial automation and control systems using PLCs or RTACs.
- Knowledge of protective relay configuration, control logic and power system protection.
- Familiarity with IEC 61850-based protection and control systems.
- Ability to investigate power system failures and analyse electrical events.
- Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with engineering, project and site teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, in addition to local site visits.
๐ What's On Offer?
- Employee ownership opportunities.

- Charitable giving programmes.
- Opportunities to work on technically challenging electrical infrastructure projects and develop specialist expertise.
๐ก Why Consider This Opportunity?
This role offers the chance to work at the intersection of electrical power engineering, automation, protection and system integration.
You'll have the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges, influence engineering decisions and support critical electrical systems from design through commissioning.
For an experienced electrical engineer looking to combine hands-on technical expertise with project-level influence, this is an opportunity to take the next step in your career.
๐ฉ Ready for Your Next Move?
If you're a licensed PE with 8+ years of electrical power systems design experience and expertise in switchgear, protective relays, automation or power system controls, we'd like to hear from you.
