About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our growing team in Leicester. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate, competitive estimates for a variety of structural steel projects across commercial, industrial, and fabrication sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed estimates for structural steel projects, including materials, labour, and subcontractor costs.
Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to provide accurate pricing.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain quotes and clarify project requirements.
Collaborate closely with the design, production, and project management teams to ensure estimates are practical and buildable.
Maintain and update cost databases, pricing models, and standard estimating procedures.
Assist with tender submissions and post-tender queries.
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience as a structural steel estimator, ideally within fabrication or construction.
Strong understanding of structural steel materials, fabrication processes, and construction techniques.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office (Excel, Word).
