Senior Health & Safety Advisor - Site-Based

Location: Dublin, Ireland
Salary: €70,000-€90,000 DOE + Package
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Company

The work being delivered by this business is the kind where there is no room for safety to become an afterthought.

With major structural steel and construction projects underway, the site teams need someone senior enough to challenge unsafe decisions, confident enough to stop work when necessary, and experienced enough to know what good looks like before an issue becomes an incident.

This is a business investing in its people, its projects and its safety standards - and this role has genuine influence over how those standards are maintained on site.

The Role

You will take a senior position within the site Health & Safety function, working closely with project teams, subcontractors, clients and site management.

You will:

  • Lead day-to-day Health & Safety activity across site operations, including subcontractor compliance.
  • Drive daily safety coordination through SPAs, whiteboard meetings, toolbox talks and site engagement.
  • Control risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work, ensuring they are implemented rather than simply filed away.
  • Challenge unsafe conditions and behaviours, with the authority to stop work where necessary.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective actions are followed through.
  • Report safety performance through regular audits, inspections, KPI reporting and management updates.

The full scope of the role, projects and team structure can be discussed confidentially.

What They're Looking For

This role is suited to someone who has already operated at a senior level within construction, engineering, manufacturing or a similar environment.

You'll need:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • 5+ years' experience in a senior Health & Safety / EHS position.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and construction standards.
  • Proven experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Experience managing subcontractor safety compliance within construction.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.

Particularly useful:

  • Structural steel or manufacturing experience.
  • Manual Handling or Abrasive Wheels training qualifications.
  • Experience working directly with clients and senior site management.

You don't need to tick every box to be worth a conversation. If your experience is strong in construction Health & Safety and you're ready for a senior site-based position, get in touch.

Why This Role?

  • A senior position with genuine authority on site.
  • Direct influence over safety culture and standards across major projects.
  • The ability to make decisions rather than simply report problems.
  • Opportunity to lead and mentor Health & Safety personnel and site teams.
  • A role where your experience is visible to senior management, clients and project teams.
  • Strong salary and package reflecting the level of responsibility.
