Detailing Manager

Are you a Project Manager with a detailing background, ready to step into a leadership role?

This is an opportunity to join one of the top structural steel fabricators in the US, leading the detailing function on some of the industry's largest projects.

We're looking for someone who understands detailing but is now focused on the bigger picture:

People. Projects. Delivery.

This isn't a hands-on detailing position.

You'll be responsible for building and developing a high-performing team, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and making sure projects move efficiently from detailing through to fabrication.

THE ROLE

You'll take ownership of the detailing function, working closely with Project Management, Fabrication, Operations and offshore detailing partners.

Your focus will be on:

* Leading, mentoring and developing the detailing team
* Managing workloads, priorities and accountability
* Coordinating internal and offshore detailing resources
* Keeping schedules and deliverables on track
* Identifying risks before they impact fabrication
* Resolving technical and coordination issues
* Improving communication across departments
* Maintaining quality across the detailing process

You'll be supporting major structural steel projects in the 30,000-40,000 ton range, so strong project management and communication skills are essential.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You don't need to be the person producing every drawing.

You need to be the person who makes sure the team delivers them.

You'll ideally have:

* A background in structural steel detailing
* Experience in Project Management, coordination or detailing leadership
* Proven experience managing and developing people
* Strong planning and organisational skills
* Knowledge of fabrication and erection processes
* Confidence working with Project Managers, Fabrication teams and Clients
* Experience coordinating outsourced/offshore detailing teams is advantageous
* Tekla or similar software knowledge is beneficial
