Position Summary
Revit & BIM for Light Gauge Steel Framing Design will join our Engineering and Fabrication team to create framing models, shop drawings, framing tickets and production files for cold-formed steel studs, tracks, and framing assemblies. The best candidate would have experience using MFW StrucSoft, Vertex BD or similar stud framing programs to create framing tickets and fabrication files. They would be familiar with Howick roll-forming system (or FrameCAD.) They will also be able to convert architectural and structural plans into detailed framing documentation, cutting lists, and machine files.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain 3D BIM models of LGS framing systems using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD MWF StrucSoft, Vertex BD.
- Generate CNC-ready outputs and machine files for Howick roll-forming lines.
- Collaborate with structural engineers, detailers, and production staff to improve framing solutions and optimize fabrication.
- Produce detailed shop drawings, cutting lists, material take-offs, and inspection documentation.
- Coordinate design changes, revisions, and quality control checks throughout production.
- Help set up and verify roll-forming machine parameters to ensure the accuracy of final components.
- Maintain and archive documentation, revision logs, and machine output history for tracking and quality assurance.
- Stay updated on industry standards for cold-formed steel framing and roll-forming fabrication technologies.
Qualifications
- Experience in LGS design or cold-formed steel detailing.
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit and comfortable with BIM workflows.
- Hands-on experience with MWF StrucSoft software for LGS modeling.
- Familiarity with Howick roll-forming systems and the requirements for CNC output.
- Strong ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and convert them into fabrication-ready files.
- Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Good communication skills and solid project documentation habits.
