Customer Service Centre Officer

Location: Lewisham Council
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract
Working Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)
Pay: £20 per hour (paid via umbrella)

Lewisham Council is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Centre Officer. In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for all enquiries handled by the Customer Service Centre, assisting customers via telephone and front-facing services as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all customer enquiries, ensuring a professional, helpful, and efficient service is provided.

  • Resolve customer enquiries through to completion, addressing a wide range of services, including Housing, Repairs, Registration Services, Environmental Services, Highways, and Planning.

  • Provide digital assistance to help residents access online services and other digital platforms, enhancing customer satisfaction.

  • Work within a fast-paced, multi-service contact centre environment, maintaining a high level of service across various channels.

  • Collaborate as part of a dynamic team to ensure the smooth operation of the Customer Service Centre.

Key Requirements:

  • A passion for customer service, with experience in handling a high volume of enquiries in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage multiple queries efficiently and effectively.

  • Proven experience working in a contact centre, with knowledge across a variety of services such as Housing, Environmental Services, Highways, and Planning.

  • A team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • A proactive approach to resolving customer issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
