Are you a licensed Structural Engineer with hands-on experience designing structural steel connections?

I'm recruiting for an exciting opportunity with an established, family-owned structural steel fabricator that has been operating for nearly 100 years.

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of the company's in-house structural engineering function, working directly with detailing, fabrication, and project management teams on a diverse range of structural steel projects.

🔧 What You'll Be Doing:

• Designing structural steel connections, including bolted, welded, moment, shear, and bracing connections.
• Preparing and reviewing structural engineering calculations.
• Ensuring compliance with AISC standards, AWS D1.1, and applicable building codes.
• Reviewing structural drawings, shop drawings, and connection design requirements.
• Collaborating with detailers, fabricators, project managers, and Engineers of Record.
• Resolving engineering challenges throughout fabrication and erection.
• Developing practical, cost-effective, and constructible connection solutions.

🎯 What We're Looking For:

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license - REQUIRED.
• Proven experience in structural steel connection design.
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Experience with AISC standards and structural connection calculations.
• Ability to independently manage engineering responsibilities.
• Familiarity with Tekla Structures or connection design software is advantageous.
• Experience working with structural steel fabricators or specialist connection engineering firms is highly desirable.
