Service Charge Officer
Tower Hamlets
£19 per hour
Full Time Contract

We are seeking a Service Charge Officer to assist in the calculation of service charge costs under the direction of the Service Charge Manager and/or Service Charge Specialist.

Key Skills and Requirements include:-

  • To assist in collecting and verifying cost data required for an accurate assessment of estimated and actual service charges for the domestic leasehold property portfolio.
  • To work with the Service Charge Manager and Specialist to highlight issues with data collection, data quality or allocation of costs to cost centres as necessary to ensure robust billing.
  • To allocate costs to cost centres under the instruction of the Service Charge Manager and Service Charge Specialist.
  • To assist in providing suitable high quality explanatory documentation to Leaseholder Services and Customer Services teams in order that they should understand and be able to explain the basis of all charges and so they can respond to leaseholders and other stakeholders.


Key Skills and Requirements include:-

  • Experience of working in a finance environment.
  • Experience of leasehold management and service charge calculation and management in the social housing sector.
  • Basic understanding of Landlord and Tenant Law, Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 and the legal processes for managing properties held on long leases.
  • Understanding of the systems and processes to be used for the recording of accounting data to be used in the calculation or residential leasehold service charges.
  • A DBS Check is required for this role.
