Novax Recruitment are currently working an exciting senior role in the public sector.

The post-holder will support the Slough Public Health team in delivering high quality, value for money services that meet local needs

Responsibilities

  • To be directly accountable for project delivery to the Public Health Programme Manager and to create a comprehensive life course prevention programme in own area of work mapped to an evidence-based framework.

  • To represent the Public Health team at local, regional and national meetings and forums and feedback key issues
  • Contribute to the production of key documents in JSNA e.g. the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA)
  • To provide information and support to the public, other staff, partners and the Public Health Programme Manager with regard to project and programme performance and to work closely with the shared public health team to monitor and redesign shared contracts and programmes
  • Critically appraise the evidence in own areas of responsibility, creating cost benefit analyses, business cases and service specifications to agreed deadlines
  • Working with the communication team to make effective use of media to promote self-care and with the learning and development team, member practices and voluntary sector to coordinate training to promote behavioural approaches to the adoption of self-care programmes within own areas of work.

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Extensive knowledge of behavioural change theories relevant to public health issues
  • Experience of writing external funding bids, project managing and successful completion of externally funded projects
  • Experience of delivering public health campaigns and events through target behaviour change approach.
  • Experience of writing external funding bids, project managing and successful completion of externally funded projects
  • Good understanding and experience of methods of developing evidence based practice and measuring health improvements for long term conditions via a range of methods
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of using information technology, including basic packages, and social media with the ability to develop and update web page experience of applying project management principles

Qualifications

Degree in public health or related health field as essential with Masters in public health or related subject as desirable.
