Operational Commissioning Officer
£16 Per Hour (Umbrella)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning/Placement Officer to work in Wokingham within the Children's services. The operational commissioning team sits within Strategy and Commissioning and serves as the placement finding function of the council. The service works closely with a range of teams across the council, as well as external partners, in order to achieve sufficiency of placements for our vulnerable adults, our looked after children and care leavers.
The postholder will be responsible for commissioning placements for vulnerable adults and children across a number of different provisions, including: residential, nursing care, supported living, fostering services, post 16, and Parent & Child assessments.
You will ensure that the wellbeing of adults and children are at the centre of all placement decisions to ensure we are meeting need and delivering the best outcomes; whilst achieving value for money. You will provide advice and support to brokerage services on all aspects of commissioning and market knowledge concerning possible suitable providers as well as lead the commissioning process for more complex cases and groups of service users.
Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of the market providing care placements both looked after children care leavers and vulnerable adults.
- knowledge of children's and adults' safeguarding procedures and legislation.
- Experience of working in commissioning or support tasks.
- DBS Required.
